Lincoln Highway Road Trip, day 3.
Here are a few random shots (in color again) of the drive so far. Two pics at the Edison Memorial Tower in Menlo Park, NJ (yes that is a light bulb at the top); a picture from a lovely late afternoon walk along the towpath in Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park near Kingston NJ; an original Lincoln Highway concrete post on the outskirts of Princeton; then two pictures from Princeton – the Princeton Battle Monument (looking like it was built by the French Department of Glorious Military Monuments) commemorating General George Washington’s revolutionary forces defeating the British forces near Princeton in a key battle, and the Morven house dating back to the 1750s, one of many beautiful and historic colonial houses on the drive; and finally the Lower Trenton Bridge over the Delaware River between Trenton, NJ and Morrisville, PA.
I took a number of pictures of Princeton University – what a gorgeous campus – and also stopped at Bryn Mawr in PA.
The whole drive so far has seemed like a college tour: I have passed by Rutgers, Princeton, St Josephs, Haverford, Bryn Mawr, Villanova and a few others along the way… Valley Forge National Park is next.
