One of the photographic themes on my Lincoln Highway explorations has been the tremendous variety (and the quality) of murals and other street art in Lincoln Highway communities.
Illinois seems to set the gold standard when it comes to murals: there are 35 interpretive murals on and near the Illinois Lincoln Highway National Scenic Byway produced by the state’s Lincoln Highway organization organization. (See the Illinois Lincoln Highway site for more info; there is a full list with explanatory text.) I didn’t get to all of them but did manage to photograph quite a few.
