As in San Francisco, Oakland also has some amazing surviving art deco buildings.
This set includes, among others, the Oakland Floral Depot, the I. Magnin building, the Paramount (more Paramount in the next set!), the Breuner Building, and the 1715 Broadway Building (a/k/a the Bowles Building), all of which were built in 1931.
A number of the buildings in this set utilize colored architectural terra cotta.
The other Oakland posts also have a fair number of deco structures. See the Lake Merritt post for a couple of real beauties.
