Dixon, IL, on the Rock River.
President Reagan was born in Tampico, IL.
The family later moved to Dixon where he lived from the age of 9 to 22. Reagan once wrote as follows: “All of us have a place to go back to; Dixon is that place for me…” He said that Dixon “…was the life that has shaped my body and mind for all the years to come after.” (Where’s the Rest of Me? 1965)
The final 11 pictures all have a connection to America’s 40th President: among them is Reagan’s boyhood home; First Christian Church where he attended church with the family; and the former Dixon High School (now a museum).
