Lincoln Highway: the roadside relics

Lincoln Highway wrap-up #4, from beautiful Charlevoix, in the lake region of northern Michigan.

I did a nice stop in Holland MI on my way north. Settled by Dutch Calvinist separatists in the mid 19th century and yet another Midwestern city punching above its weight.

Herman Miller (of chair fame) is there. So is the world’s largest pickle plant.

Now for some roadside fun. As with old signage the older and more obscure the old highway, the more surviving roadside treasures. The former Lincoln Highway route has them in abundance. Here are just a few. The teapot and coffee pot were saved but moved from their original locations; the others are at original locations. Enjoy!
