Lincoln Highway Road Trip, end of day 8.

In Lima OH (that is Lima as in lima bean and not as in Lima, Peru). I am not far from the Indiana state line and shall cross over in the morning. Only a couple more days and I will be leaving the Lincoln Highway and going off the travel blogging.

I did about 175 miles today and got mostly across Ohio – I had a long afternoon stop in a place called Mansfield – more on that tomorrow. I am beat. I took a lot of what they call “byways” which are branches of the main road where an earlier routing still exists but it is slow going (or no going as you can see in one of the pictures).

Beautiful country – as I headed west it got more and more rural and started to feel like the Midwest. I went through some nice towns too.

Towards the evening the roads just got emptier and emptier. Another pretty and very entertaining drive as I head westward.

In the pix you also will see an original Lincoln Highway marker displayed by a museum and a few other on-the-road shots taken here in Ohio…
